We got the call late one evening while we were at the gym that my sister-in-law had gone into labor. I wanted to go to the hospital immediately but we were assured that there was plenty of time. We arrived at the hospital around midnight eagerly waiting for the birth of my niece… and waiting… and waiting. The waiting room chairs offered no respite and eventually we slept on the floor using our jackets as make-shift pillows. Late the next morning Grace Madelyn was born. Now my sweet little niece is two and she can finally say ‘Auntie Anne’!
This weekend is her actual birthday but we celebrated early at her party on Saturday. Her party was at a little petty zoo/play area in Mechanicsburg and despite the rain I think she enjoyed the festivities. Happy Birthday Gracie, you are dearly loved!
