Gabriel started his life with an extended stay in the NICU. His mama was worried that because she had missed the typical 5-7 day old range of my newborns, we wouldn’t be able to get any portraits of her baby boy. Although he was much bigger than my typical newborns, Gabriel slept like a champ for me. I think it might have something to do with him being #4.

This beautiful family is finally able to enjoy their dream come true after many years of waiting. Nathan was an absolute doll baby for me and his parents are head over heels in love with him. After spending a couple hours with him I can understand why.

Wanna see the guy that stole my heart this morning?

Sigh…. be still my warm & fuzzy heart! I had to stop myself from smothering him with kisses during our time together this morning. Maybe being trapped inside for a few days because of the snow had something to do with it. But really, aren’t his little smushy lips irresistible?

I couldn’t decide which version I preferred… what do you think?

WHAT I WOULD TELL HER:

You are a miracle. And I have to love you this fiercely: So that you can feel it even after you leave for school, or even while you are asleep,or even after your childhood becomes a memory. You’ll forget all this when you grow up. But it’s okay.
Being a mother means having your heart broken.
And it means loving and losing and falling apart and coming back together.
And it’s the best there is. And also, sometimes, the worst.
Sometimes you won’t have anyone to talk to.
Sometimes you’ll wonder if you’ve forgotten who you are.
But you must remember this: What you’re doing matters.

Lila is such a dainty baby girl and is already quite vocal. She made so many noises for such a little peanut, she had me laughing her entire session! I can’t wait to see how her personality develops as she grows.
